2016 Infiniti QX30

The QX30 is to Infiniti’s also new Q30 five-door hatch that we saw at the Frankfurt auto show in September what Mercedes-Benz’s GLA is to the A-Class hatchback, and this is not by chance, as all four cars are related to each other.

To be more precise, the Japanese luxury brand’s Q30 and QX30 compacts are re-skinned versions of the two Mercedes models with which they share the same front-drive architecture (all wheel drive will be on offer), several engines including a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-pot with 208hp (211PS) for North America, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

All this is part of a broader, ongoing partnership between Mercedes’ parent company Daimler and Infiniti’s parent company, the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

We’ll know more about the QX30, including when it will arrive in the US, tomorrow during its world premiere at the LA Auto Show.
